Cuatrecasas Law School

At Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, we believe in continuously training our lawyers and updating their knowledge. Many of our lawyers are academics and university lecturers, who use their knowledge and talent to deliver internal training courses and who share their experiences with our other lawyers on a daily basis. Our internal trainers offer first-class teaching adapted to our needs, using high quality academic and practical teaching methods.

The Cuatrecasas School of Law (Escuela de Derecho Cuatrecasas, EDC) provides a training plan that is specifically aimed at our lawyers. It is designed to offer permanent training that ensures they remain up to date with the latest developments in the legal field.

Courses are divided into five separate groups:

  • Beginners’ modules: Aimed at our most junior lawyers, atten-dance is compulsory. They offer training in basic legal practice and the way in which the firm operates.
  • Specialist modules: Designed to provide our lawyers with the necessary training in their specialty area.
  • Corporate culture modules: Explain the firm’s values and cor-porate culture and foster our lawyers’ integration and cohesion in the firm.
  • Skill modules: Strengthen and develop our lawyers’ skills, for example, oratory and negotiation skills, and teamwork.
  • English Project: Offers techniques and tools designed to improve our lawyers’ written and verbal communication skills in English.

In addition to the training activities organized by the EDC, our lawyers can update and widen their technical know-how by participating in Area Technical Committees, which deal with current issues specific to each individual legal area. These are further supported and developed by a number of External Technical Training Programs offered by highly regarded educational institutions.

The training programs that we have implemented at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira allow us to ensure that our clients receive the highest quality and most up-to-date legal advice, supported by constant research and development.
