Competition and the EU

The group of lawyers specialized in competition and the EU law offers clients in all economic sectors innovative, added-value solutions that strengthen their competitive position in the market. This specialty group assists and defends clients’ interests in proceedings with the EU and Spanish competition defense authorities.

Also, the Competition and the EU Law Group advises and defends companies in issues relating to government aid and the different areas in Community law and competition law, in Spanish courts (Supreme Court and Audencia Nacional, a division of the Supreme Court) and Community courts (Court of First Instance and Court of Justice of the EC).

The group advises Spanish and international companies on defense in cases of competition, concentrations, government aid and general European Community law issues, including investigations and conflicts with the authorities and in courts in Spain, Portugal and the European Union.

The Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira Competition and the EU Law Group has lawyers in the Barcelona, Brussels and Madrid offices. The group is led by Cani Fernández, who divides her time between the latter two cities, together with Andrew Ward, responsible of the team in Madrid and Barcelona.
