Álvaro Mendiola

Mr. Mendiola has ample experience in judicial and arbitration proceedings in distribution, energy, and competition law, and in claims arising from M&A transactions.

In recent years, he has acted in the restructuring proceedings of six of the most important automotive distribution networks in Spain.

He has led important cases related to competition law in the Spanish courts.

He was the first senior legal advisor in Spain to obtain a civil judgment awarding damages for breach of competition law (judgment by Madrid Commercial Court no. 5, November 11, 2005).

He is senior legal advisor to international and national arbitration boards: the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Civil and Commercial Arbitration Court (CIMA), the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, the Arbitration Board of Barcelona, and ad hoc arbitration boards.
