Bernat Mullerat

Mr. Mullerat has extensive experience in the real estate and energy sectors. He has advised companies on building and purchasing property, particularly on purchasing shopping centers, hotels and office buildings, as well as on managing real estate portfolios, hotels and tourist developments.

He also has ample experience in national and international transactions to develop and sell renewable-energy projects.

Mr. Mullerat has lectured on real estate law and the environment in the Master in International Legal Practice at the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía, and on international trade at the Escuela Superior de Comercio Internacional of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

He is the author of several articles including European Environmental Liability: one step forward, ICCRL, Issue 6, 2005; and  Algunas reflexiones sobre el nuevo régimen comunitario de responsabilidad ambiental (Contemplating the new European Community directive on environmental liability), Revista Aranzadi de Derecho Ambiental, 2005; and of the chapter on Spain in Cross-border transactions and environmental law, Butterworths, 1999. He is the co-author of the chapter on Spain in Commercial Real Estate, European Lawyer - Reference Series, 2011.

He speaks regularly at national and international seminars and conferences on real estate transactions, the environment and energy.

Mr. Mullerat was vice-chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain from 2005 to 2010, and senior vice-chairman of the Environment, Health and Safety Law Committee of the International Bar Association from 2008 to 2010. He is a member of the Real Estate Committee of the International Bar Association.
