César Rivera

Mr. Rivera has extensive experience in commercial litigation, particularly in national and international arbitrations. He specializes in disputes arising from the buying and selling of companies, and stake acquisitions, as well as corporate disputes (challenges to corporate resolutions and directors' liability). In addition, he has ample experience in disputes involving distribution, agency and franchise contracts.

The time he spent in the Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira corporate practice is an excellent base for his litigation practice. He has participated in multijurisdictional teams in numerous international disputes.

Mr. Rivera lectures on courses and at seminars organized by business schools and associations such as the Instituto de Comercio Exterior (Foreign Trade Institute), the International Bar Association, the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA), the Club Español del Arbitraje (The Spanish Arbitration Club) (CEA), and the Barcelona Bar Association. He serves as a judge and arbitrator in international moot competitions (The Jessup Competition, Moot Madrid), and has written chapters in several monographs on arbitration.

He is a member of the CEA and has coordinated its group-40. He is a founding member of the Asociación para el Fomento del Arbitraje (Association for the Promotion of Arbitration), as well as a member of the AIJA and its litigation and arbitration committees.

Additionally, Mr. Rivera serves as secretary on the boards of directors of several companies.
