Diogo Ortigão Ramos
Associate lawyer of Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira since 1996. Partner since 2000.
Head of the firm's tax practice in Portugal.
He has focused his practice on EU, national and international taxation, particularly regarding M&As, buyouts, corporate restructuring, financial transactions, and real estate investment structuring and transactions. He also has experience in tax and customs litigation, and advising on structuring transactions at Centro Internacional de Negscios da Madeira.
Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1989.
Acknowledged by the Portuguese Bar as Specialist Tax Lawyer.
He is a member of the Portuguese Tax Association, the International Fiscal Association, the Portuguese Association of Tax Consultants, the International Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
He is the Portuguese representative of the Foreign Lawyers Forum of the American Bar Association and of EC Tax Review.
He is a member of the European Tax Law Group (an independent group of tax advisors specializing in European tax law).
He is a former member of the jury of the Portuguese Bar Association that grants lawyers the status of tax law specialists.
He started his career in 1989 with Grupo Legal Português (current Simmons & Simmons) and also worked in the tax practice of Deloitte & Touche.
Former Lecturer of International Taxation at Overgest/ Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa.
He is the author of several articles on tax matters and a portuguese correspondent of Foreign Lawyers Forum of American Bar Association.
Law Degree from Lusíada University, in 1989.
Post-graduation in Taxation from Higher Institute of Management, in 1995.
Acknowledged by the Portuguese Bar as Specialist Tax Lawyer.
Languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.
