Javier Laorden

A partner at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira since 1988, Mr. Laorden has ample experience in corporate acquisitions and consolidations, legal planning and corporate organization of family businesses, as well as foreign investments in Spain and Spanish investment abroad. He has also acted as a bankruptcy administrator in bankruptcy proceedings.

Mr. Laorden is a former member of Spain’s General Council of the Judiciary and a member of the Executive Board of the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary.

He lectures at the School of Legal Practice of the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas ICADE and frequently lectures for organizations specialized in taxation. He has published several articles on tax law and has advised business associations on drafting and proposing legislative modifications in different areas. 

A member of the Madrid Bar Association, Mr. Laorden is also a member of the board of trustees of Fundación para la Protección de Personas con Minusvalía (Foundation for People with Disabilities) and chairman of the advisory board of Fundación ANESVAD. He is a founding member of the Hispanic-Moroccan Jurist Forum and a member of the National Advisory Committee (Honors Committee) of the journal Educación y Derecho.
