Javier Asensio
Mr. Asensio specializes in international tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and private-equity transactions. He has ample experience in business restructuring transactions and in advising multinational groups.
He was co-managing partner of the firm's New York from 2003 to 2006.
Mr. Asensio has lectured in the Masters in Tax at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and the Master in Town Planning and Real Estate Management organized by the Spanish Builders and Developers Association. He helped draft the books Comentarios al Impuesto sobre Sociedades (Comments on Company Tax) and Comentarios al IRPF y al IRNR (Comments on Personal Income Tax and Non-residents Income Tax), published by Civitas and Aranzadi, in cooperation with Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, and has spoken at several seminars on tax issues.
He currently lectures on the Master in Tax at the Universidad de Navarra.
He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and was co-chair of the international law committee on tax aspects of international trade and investment. He is also a member of the American Bar Association.
