Jorge de Juan

Mr. de Juan has ample experience in defending taxpayers and companies in disputes with the tax authorities on all areas of tax litigation (e.g., business restructurings, Community taxation, and tax offenses). He also has extensive experience in advising family businesses, and in corporate and inheritance planning for family businesses.

Mr. de Juan joined the body of counsels for the state by public competitive examination, practicing as head of the State Legal Service in Girona. He also gained experience as counsel for the state in the State Legal Service before the High Court of Justice of Catalonia and as deputy head of the Regional Legal Service of the special unit of the Catalan tax authorities.

He was a member of the Spanish parliament, acting as spokesperson for the Commission of the Treasury.

He is the author of various publications, including Delitos contra la Hacienda Pública (Offenses against the tax authorities) (Ed. Bosch), El poder legislativo estatal en el Estado Autonómico (State legislative power in the regional state) (FAES), and El principio de no discriminación fiscal como instrumento de armonización negativa (The principle of non-tax discrimination as a negative harmonization tool) (Ed. Aranzadi). He also regularly writes articles in specialized legal journals and in the press.

He lectures on finance and tax law at the Universitat de Barcelona, and has also lectured at the Escuela de Finanzas Públicas and the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED).
