José Argüelles

Mr. Argüelles has been a member of the Body of Counsels for the State since 1990. From 2000 to 2007, he worked as chief counsel for the state of the legal services of the Balearic Islands tax authorities.

He was head of the legal affairs department of the Spanish Association of Commercial and Property Registrars for three and a half years.

In 2009, by unanimous approval, the parliament of the Balearic Islands named him member of the advisory board of the autonomous region of the Balearic Islands.

He specializes in bankruptcy law, registry and notarial law, commercial law, areas of public law, and tax evasion.

Mr. Argüelles spent five years preparing students for the public competitive examinations for the Body of the Counsels for the State, and has been lecturing on the Master in Public Finance at the Universidad de las Illes Balears since 1997. Since 2009, he has been lecturing on the “Advanced Course in Bankruptcy Law” at the Aula Jurídica Europea of the Universidad Europea de Madrid, organized by the Council of Associations of Qualified Financial and Economic Experts of the Balearic Islands.
