José Luis Ballester

Since 1997, Mr. Ballester has worked in the Corporate and Litigation practices of Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, Olivencia-Ballester. He is head of the Corporate practice at the firm´s Seville office.

He has extensive experience in advising companies on commercial matters, transactions to acquire and transfer companies, corporate restructurings, corporate financing and corporate contracts (national and international).

He also has ample experience in advising on bankruptcy, corporate disputes, and litigation in civil and commercial courts, and advises Spanish and multinational companies through the process of international expansion (corporate and contractual).

Mr. Ballester is director of the Corporate Law Department at the Forensics School of the Seville Bar Association, where he also lectures on corporate law.

He also lectures on corporate and bankruptcy law in the Master in Legal Consultancy for Businesses at the Instituto Cajasol and on commercial law in the Advanced Master in Legal Practice at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide.

In addition to writing articles, he regularly gives talks on corporate governance, directors liability, and corporate and bankruptcy law at conferences and seminars held at important entities such as Association of Corporate Counsel, the chambers of commerce of Seville, Cadíz, Huelva and Granada, as well as Cajasol, IDEA, Esic Business Marketing School, bar associations, and Caja Rural del Sur.

He also regularly attends forums such as the Foro Joly, Foro Encuentro 2000, and workshops offered by the International Bar Association and Focus.

He is a member of the Tax Group of the Seville Bar Association.
