Luis Montés

Mr. Montés is a partner of the litigation practice in the firm's Valencia office. Based at several of the firm's offices since 1994, he has focused his practice on defending clients' interests in national and international bankruptcy and arbitration proceedings.

His specialties include resolving controversies and disputes derived from the sale of companies; and corporate disputes, including directors' liability and challenging corporate resolutions.

Mr. Montés has given talks at various courses and conferences in Spain and abroad.

He was a speaker at the 2nd International Peruvian Conference on Arbitration (commercial and investment arbitration) in Lima. He participated in conferences and work sessions for the Instituto de Empresa to present the new Code of Civil Procedure, and gave the presentation El Convenio de Continuidad Empresarial (The Business Continuity Agreement) at the Alicante and Alzira bar associations.

He also presented Spain's new bankruptcy act to business confederations in the autonomous region of Valencia when it came into force in 2004.

He regularly talks at conferences and courses for the business sector organized by FUNDESEM, COEPA, CAM, and APD, on topics such as the liability of managers and directors.

Mr. Montés is a member of the Spanish Arbitration Club.
