Meritxell Yus

Ms. Yus is head of the firm's Indirect Taxation practice, comprising lawyers that are experts in indirect taxes, such as VAT, transfer tax and stamp duty, and customs and excise duties. The lawyers also advise on local taxes and taxes that are specific to regulated sectors.

She has ample experience in advising multinational groups, and has extensive knowledge of indirect taxation, particularly VAT applicable to international transactions, and sectors and businesses that are exempt from VAT.

She is an expert in real estate taxation and is a member of the firm's Real Estate and Construction Group. She has extensive experience in advising on and planning real estate transactions in the private and public sectors, and in restructuring real estate groups. An expert in designing real estate investment and disinvestment structures, she has extensive knowledge of state, regional and local taxation of these kinds of transactions.

Thanks to her expertise in the taxation of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Ms. Yus has advised many companies on M&A transactions.

Ms. Yus regularly gives talks at forums on indirect taxation and publishes articles on this area of specialty. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
