Miguel Cases

Mr. Cases has ample experience in advising companies placed under supervision by the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission and the Bank of Spain. He advises clients on the contractual aspects of banking products and capital markets, as well as on financial sector regulation.

He is an expert in over-the-counter derivative financial instruments, structured products, hybrid debt instruments, and all kinds of products and contracts that simulate or replicate cash flow.

Before joining Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, he was legal advisor to the Caja de Ahorros y Pensiones de Barcelona (Barcelona Savings and Pension Bank) and the Spanish Confederation of Savings Banks.

He lectures regularly at business schools on subjects related to his specialty, and has helped draft framework documents on derivative financial instruments, the regulation on compensation agreements and financial guarantees, and other regulations in the financial sector.
