Miguel Ángel Melero

He is a partner at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira and Managing Partner of the New York office.

With extensive experience in private equity and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), at both local and multijurisdictional levels, Mr. Melero has led numerous successful deals, including landmark telecommunications and private-equity transactions in Spain. He is particularly experienced in the insurance, real estate, pharmaceutical and renewable-energies sectors. Mr. Melero focuses his practice on advising international companies on their investments in Spain or Spanish corporations on acquisition processes abroad. He has a proactive approach, detecting possible risks and legal implications for clients, and designing flexible legal solutions tailored to their needs.

He speaks regularly on M&A and private-equity matters at industry events and business schools. He also lectures in the Master in International Legal Practice at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Mr. Melero is fluent in English and Spanish.
