He joined the firm in 1999. He worked in the Madrid office until 2004 when he transferred to the Valencia office. He was named partner in 2008.
He has advised family businesses, venture capital companies and funds, and foreign multinational companies, and has acquired particularly notable experience in the areas of renewable energy, waste disposal, sports, and packaging.
He has experience in joint investment endeavors, and project development and financing, in Spain and abroad, as well as in corporate governance and disputes.
Mr. Cubel received an FPI-FPU scholarship from the Spanish Ministry for Education and Culture and has lectured on international law at the Universidad de Valencia and the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Currently, he lectures in several master programs at the Universidad Católica de Valencia and the Energy Technologies Institute.
He is secretary non-director of several leading companies in the sports and energy sectors.
Author of the book Comercio internacional de residuos peligrosos (International Trade of Toxic Waste) Tirant lo Blanch, 2001, Mr. Cubel has published several articles in journals such as the International Journal of Marine and Coastal Law, Anuario de Derecho Internacional (Annual Report on International Law), Actualidad Administrativa (Administrative News), Yearbook of International Environmental Law, and in Revista de Derecho Urbanístico y Medio Ambiente (Urban Planning and Environmental Law Magazine).
He has also published specialized articles in El Boletin de Empresas, Cinco Días, Las Provincias, Levante, www.renewableenergyworld.com, www.iberianlawyer.com, and Era Solar. Together with Juan Grima Ferrada, he wrote the chapter “Acceso y salida de accionistas” (Shareholder access and departure) of the book Recomendaciones sobre el Buen Gobierno de las Empresas Familiares (Recommendations for Good Governance in Family Businesses), Thomson Aranzadi, 2006.
He is an active member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) and the EDEM Alumni Association.
