Mr. Calaf has extensive experience in tax consultancy and planning, having participated in many corporate and family-business-group restructurings, as well as in merger processes and stock acquisitions.
He also ample experience in advising large Spanish business groups (consolidated tax regime), and multinational groups, as well as in advising on planning processes related to restructuring and selling business groups.
He is an expert in family protocols and agreements, and in the inheritance planning of business assets.
Mr. Calaf is a lecturer at the Family Business Department of the Universitat de Barcelona, in addition to lecturing in the Master in Family Businesses at the School of Business Administration (Escuela de Administración de Empresas or “EAE”), in the course Consejeros de Empresa Familiar at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, and in other master programs. He also lectures regularly at conferences and seminars on family businesses, and participates in training activities at the Associació Catalana de l'Empresa Familiar.
He is co-editor-in-chief of the books Comentarios al impuesto sobre la renta de las personas físicas (Comments personal income tax) (Ed. Thomson-Aranzadi) and El buen gobierno de la empresa familiar (The good governance of family businesses) (Ed. Aranzadi), and coordinator and promoter of the Decálogo de la Empresa Familiar (The Family Business Decalogue) published by Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira.
