With one of the largest real estate teams in Spain and Portugal, comprising lawyers from various offices, we can give specific advice on local regulations and practices. Our Real Estate and Construction Group is active all over the Iberian territory, where we are based in the main cities and work under a "single-office” principle. Our extensive international experience and the lawyers' international outlook enable us to advise foreign clients on their business in Iberia, as well as Spanish and Portuguese companies on their business abroad, using our broad network of offices.
Civil and business contracts: We advise on negotiating and drafting all kinds of real estate and construction agreements, including agreements to acquire and transfer real estate assets, and to operate and lease real estate. We prepare due diligence reports on real estate assets, covering civil, environmental, labor, litigation, tax and town-planning issues.
Investment structures: We assist with setting up real estate companies, defining strategies with clients, as well as advising on real estate investment funds and on investment structures, taking into account tax and financial objectives (SOCIMI).
Real estate financing transactions: We design real estate financing transactions, and advise on matters such as financing real estate projects, optimizing real estate securitization structures, sale-and-lease-back transactions, acquiring distressed debt portfolios secured by real estate collateral, refinancing and restructuring.
Taxation: We provide tax planning, including reviewing the tax implications of each stage of the project and providing tax advice in contract negotiations.
Town planning and environment: We assist with preparing urban development and management tools, advise on rezoning, administrative permits, approvals and concessions, and relocation, and defend clients in administrative proceedings.
Civil litigation: We defend clients’ interests concerning litigation over real estate, in court and in arbitration proceedings, and advise on the enforcement of real estate securitization.
Labor and employment: We advise on all labor issues related to running real estate businesses.
