Cuatrecasas received the 2008 award for best “Europe, Middle East, and Africa Law Firm of the Year” from the British publication Legal Week. The judging panel of 19 experts—members of the London Law Society; and lawyers from universities, British legal associations, and companies such as HSBC—recognized Cuatrecasas as a leader in its category because of its financial results, client-and-employee satisfaction, and its commitment to both technological innovation and corporate social responsibility.
Cuatrecasas was a finalist in the EMEA section (Europe, Middle East and Africa) along with Al Tamini & Company (Iraq, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates), Chiomenti (Italy), Galadari & Associates (United Arab Emirates), and Garrigues and Perez-Llorca (Spain).
The awards ceremony was held last night in the Old Billingsgate Market, London. Enric Picanyol, Florentino Carreño, Iñigo de Luisa and Antonio Rocha, the partners of the Cuatrecasas London office, attended the ceremony. They all highlighted the high number of Spanish law firms among the finalists and award winners: four firms were nominated and two won awards. Ínigo de Luisa highlighted how “successful and highly regarded Spanish lawyers are in the Anglo-Saxon world.”
