Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira opens its Malaga office

Emilio Cuatrecasas, the firm’s executive chairman, said today in Malaga that the opening of this office ends, for the moment, Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira’s territorial expansion, which takes in eight countries and a total of 24 offices, 17 of which are in Spanish cities. He also announced, with due caution, the increase in business recorded in the first two months of this year.

The new Malaga office completes the firm’s coverage of Andalusia. Luis Olivencia, managing partner of the Seville office, commented on the “great opportunities for growth open to Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, Olivencia, Ballester in this part of Andalusia.”

Francisco Romero, managing partner of the Malaga office, pointed out that “The firm has a single presence in Andalusia with two offices that cover the eastern and western parts of the region from Malaga and Seville.” He added that “We are client orientated rather than case orientated.”

Rafael Fontana, partner and managing director of Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira, recalled the firm’s almost 100 years of existence and explained in connection with its strategy for setting up local offices that “Law, like wine, travels badly. It is essential to be on the spot with the right local partners who can assure our clients of reliability and quality.” The firm has approximately 1,000 lawyers, together with 500 support staff, which enables it to stay very close to clients, aiming, as Rafael Fontana states, for long-term relationships and commitment to their interests.
