Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira opens new Madrid head office on calle Almagro

Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira Madrid opens its new Madrid office at the former site of Mutua Madrileña, the Spanish insurance company. The seven-story 14,000 square meters building has five floors, housing over 440 lawyers and support staff, and includes four parking lots with 200 parking spaces.

Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira’s lawyers started working in the new Madrid office at 9 calle Almagro, in the Chamberí neighborhood, where business continues as usual after a successful move and implementation of IT systems.

Deputy CEO Julian García Rubí highlighted that the move to calle Almagro is the result of a very exciting project that will enable us to enjoy a head office equipped with all the services required by a top law firm and to meet a long sought-after objective: to once again have everybody based in the same location. This is the start of a new phase for our office in Madrid. Based in an area with a strong law tradition, this ecological and intelligent building is equipped with the latest technology, enabling us to better integrate our teams and provide our clients with the best possible service. The firm’s CEO Rafael Fontana said that the move to calle Almagro “is a successful step forward in Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira’s history, as it means bringing everybody under one roof in a project that we are proud of.”

The new building also has a café and a restaurant, a 180-seat auditorium, a library, 30 rooms, six elevators and a doctor’s service. The ecological building has 108 solar photovoltaic panels to generate electricity and 24 solar thermal panels to supply hot water to the building’s sanitary system. This move will lead to improved integration and rapport among the firm’s staff, as well as a modernized client service, bringing us closer to clients. This new building marks the upward trend in the firm’s business activity in Madrid, as was the case when the firm last moved its head offices from calle Antonio Maura to calle Velázquez. For the firm, the new building is a symbol of modernity, combining lawyers from different practice areas and enabling the firm to take a step forward by uniting the best lawyers, cases and clients.
