Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira has recently recruited Mario Celaya as an of counsel in its corporate practice in Paris. An expert in Community, competition and distribution law, Mr. Celaya also has extensive experience in M&A. He also has first-rate legal and economic-financial training, with undergraduate and postgraduate studies that focus on practicing international law. The Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira Paris office, established in 2004 and headed by partner Nuria Bové, advises Spanish and Portuguese companies with interests in France, and French companies investing in the Iberian Peninsula, on French, Portuguese and Spanish law, offering them proximity and quick turnarounds.
After beginning his career at the Spanish Ministry of the Treasury, Mr. Celaya joined the business area of Banco Santander, and later worked as a lawyer at Parisian firms Martin & Maynadier and Dubarry Le Douarin Veil. In 2007, he was involved in the launch of Field Fisher Waterhouse’s office in Paris, where he was managing partner. Mr. Celaya graduated in law from Université París-Nanterre (Paris X), has a postgraduate diploma from Institut d’Etudes Politiques de París (Science Po), a master and a diploma of research aptitude for doctoral studies (“DEA”) in international and European law from the Université Pantheón-Assas (Paris II), and a Master in Business Administration and a DEA in industrial economics from University Paris-Dauphine (Paris IX).
