Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira appoints Antonio Carreño as litigation area coordinator

Mr. Carreño will coordinate this practice with partner Alfonso Iglesia.

Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, a leading law firm in Spain and Portugal, has appointed Antonio Carreño León as the firm’s new litigation area coordinator. He will join partner Alfonso Iglesia to coordinate the litigation practice from the Barcelona office.

Mr. Carreño is one of the main leading partners in the restructuring and insolvency practice. His appointment comes at the same time that Jorge Badía’s, the litigation coordinator since 2008, was appointed as the firm’s managing partner.

“This is a challenge I enthusiastically welcome. I am convinced that Alfonso Iglesia and I will be able to continue managing the area and delving into the projects already in progress. We want to be more efficient in our work, create value in the services we offer to our clients, promote our lawyers’ talent and build collaboration bridges with the firm’s other groups and areas,” stressed Mr. Carreño.

Litigation is one of the main areas at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira. It has over 200 lawyers, and it made up 22.6% of the firm’s total revenue in 2014. The practice includes specialist teams in commercial, civil, tax, labor and public law issues, and specific groups such as restructuring and insolvency, corporate compliance and arbitration. This practice was awarded the prestigious GAR 30 in 2014 as the only Iberian firm recognized in the top 30 in the world for its international arbitration practice.
