Gide integrates Cuatrecasas’ team in Paris and launches an Iberian Desk

Gide is pleased to announce the creation of an Iberian Desk in its Paris office, with the arrival of partner Nuria Bové and three lawyers joining from the Paris office of Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira.

Gide Cuatrecasas’ Iberian Desk will support Iberian and Latin American companies on their operations in France, as well as French clients on their operations in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. The specialist team will naturally work alongside all of Gide’s other practice groups and international offices.

This Iberian Desk is created in the context of the special relationship in place between Gide and Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, established for several years now with the setting up of the European Network of Independent Law Firms alongside two other leading independent law firms, Chiomenti in Italy and Gleiss Lutz in Germany. In October 2014, Gide and Cuatrecasas announced the union of their firms in Morocco. The two firms work closely together in various international markets such as London, Brussels and Shanghai, as well as on a number of cross-border cases.

Stéphane Puel, Gide’s managing partner, says: “I am very pleased to welcome Nuria and her team to our firm. She will help us develop our ability to support Iberian and Latin American clientele. Additionally, all our clients will be able to benefit from a dedicated legal services platform and expertise of these markets”.

Rafael Fontana, Cuatrecasas’ senior partner, states: “I am very satisfied with our two practices coming together in Paris, which heralds a new stage in our partnership. Our clients will be able to benefit from a premier service in French law in all fields of business law, thanks to Gide’s unique and multidisciplinary expertise in France”.
