The International Bar Association (IBA) European Forum has been focusing on the Mediterranean, and with this in mind, is organizing the second Mediterranean conference in Barcelona on June 20-21.

The Catalan capital takes over from the IBA’s last meeting in Rome, this time placing on the table projects that are key to the region’s economic development. There will be much discussion on the Mediterranean Corridor and the infrastructure necessary for connecting ports, airports, roads, logistics centers and cities with the rest of the world. The conference will also deal with the future of energies, especially renewable energy, and the use of water resources and the promotion of technological clusters. All this will be under the careful watch and umbrella of one of the world’s largest lawyer organizations, whose leading players will play an essential role in the legal architecture of the projects to be developed in the Mediterranean region.

The Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Barcelona (Barcelona Bar Association) (ICAB) will host the sessions, with the participation of Spain’s leading law firms, including Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira, Garrigues, Gómez Acebo & Pombo, Osborne Clarke, Roca Junyent and Uría Menéndez. Firms from Germany, Italy and Turkey will also support the event. Professors, business professionals and general legal counsels will complete the range of speakers at this specialized conference on the Mediterranean.
