The Girona office of Cuatrecasas is celebrating its 25th anniversary with its eyes set on the future. The most immediate challenges are to accompany Girona-based clients in their international expansion and commit to new working methods focused on knowledge management and new technologies.

Since it was established in 1991, the Girona office has been a steadfast commitment by the firm to serving the region’s rich business fabric. After a quarter of a century the office has grown and become well established as one of the leading law firms in the area, combining proximity and knowledge of its clients’ business, with the firm’s global capacity.

Cuatrecasas offers its clients in Girona comprehensive and specialized advice and stands out as a leader in matters relating to corporate taxation, international contracting, mergers and acquisitions, real estate law, and business restructuring in all sectors.

Innovation and talent recruitment

The office has taken important steps forward to improve the quality of its legal advice through technological resources that accelerate and facilitate the client-lawyer process.

In addition, legal investigation through the Knowledge Centers enable a constant and immediate updating of the new legislation and case law occurring in all fields, thus generating a high level of added value, which is a distinctive aspect of its legal services.

At present, the team consists of over 20 lawyers. In the last Cuatrecasas general meeting, Girona welcomed a new partner with the appointment of Germán Domínguez, who together with managing partner and founder of the office Sílvia Albertí, and Alberto Palacios, head the office.

Girona is also one of the Cuatrecasas offices with greatest female presence. Women represent 70% of the team and are among the highest levels in the associates’ category. Sílvia Albertí is a member of the firm’s board of directors and has appeared in the Best Lawyers ranking as one of the best lawyers in the region since 2012.

Albertí stated “we reach 25 years with a great feeling of gratitude to the clients of the region and to our team. Without them we would not have been able to grow and get this far. Girona’s development has been parallel to that of Cuatrecasas and we have become stronger thanks to our increasingly specialized services and a solid international presence, with a special focus on Europa and Latin America. This is our commitment for the future and why we want to continue to depend on the best team and talent.”
