The auditorium of the Cuatrecasas Madrid head office filled with 200 marketing and communications professionals to talk about social networks, cybersecurity and corporate communications.

On December 1, Cuatrecasas held the second year of Corporate Social Media, a key event to discover the latest trends in corporate communications and social networks.

The event brought together marketing, communications and human resources professionals from wide-ranging organizations, including Adecco, Deloitte, PwC, UNICEF, and the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

#CSMDay was a top trending topic on twitter in Spain and became the main topic in Madrid and Barcelona. During the three-hour session, 270 people wrote over 1,900 tweets.

The first panel discussion dealt with cybersecurity. The main problems of internet data protection were outlined by Eva Moya, intelligence analysis director; Mario López, security analyst; Jorge Monclús, intellectual property and new technologies specialist lawyer at Cuatrecasas; and Javier Rodríguez, integration architectures and big data architectures practice manager at Gfi España.

The way in which the digital environment has changed the relationship between the media and brands was discussed by the second panel, moderated by Virginia Pérez Alonso, associate director at Público online newspaper, and comprising Elena Arrieta, Expansión Economía Digital; Manuel Ángel López, head of Teknautas, El Confidencial; Miguel Ángel Uriondo, co-founder of Merca2.es; and Fernando Ruiz Antón, head of inbound communication strategy at BBVA.

The event continued with a search engine optimization (SEO) workshop, given by the CEO of Trazada, Jose Manuel Otero, who during his presentation revealed the secrets of how to gain visibility and the main techniques of positioning optimization in Google.

The last panel discussion focused on the social networks. Raúl Suárez, enterprise relationship manager of LinkedIn Spain; Javier Burón, CEO at Audience; and Raúl del Cuadro, digital consultant at Territorio Creativo, presented the latest developments and good practices of the social platforms, moderated by Alberto Barreiro, chief experience officer at Grupo Prisa.

Communications director Amelia Aguilar closed the event with the presentation of the award to the most active tweeter during the event, Tito González, from Grant Thornton.
