Cuatrecasas advised Imesapi and Api Movilidad on negotiating, drafting and agreeing on their respective new gender equality plans, which are in line with current regulations.

Almudena Batista, partner in the Cuatrecasas Labor and Employment Practice and expert in equality and social sustainability in companies, led the negotiation of Imesapi’s and Api Movilidad’s gender equality plans, which she said “ended with a unanimous decision by the legal representatives of their respective workforces and the CCOO del Hábitat and UGT trade unions.” She added that “these plans are a reflection of the commitment to equality, aimed, among other things, to reduce the underrepresentation of women in a sector traditionally dominated by men such as is construction».

With these plans, in line with current regulations, Imesapi and Api Movilidad aim, over the next four years, to reduce the underrepresentation of women and occupational segregation with measures that update their current gender equality plans.  The two companies are committed to introducing training on equality in their organizations, reviewing remuneration and improving work-life balance rights. The plans also include a (i) comprehensive protocol on help and protection against gender and sexual violence, already adapted to the new Act 10/2022, of September 6, 2022, on guaranteeing sexual self-determination; and (ii) a new protocol for preventing and acting in cases of sexual and gender-based harassment.

The Cuatrecasas team commissioned to design and negotiate the equality plans, and led by Almudena Batista, included lawyers Jaime Rubio and Carmen Ruiz who prepared the salary reviews and diagnostic audits respectively.
