Cuatrecasas has advised Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) on an agreement with Telefónica Colombia to establish a joint venture—holding optical fiber assets—to provide connectivity services and optical fiber network deployment in Colombia.
On completion of the transaction, valued at €440 million, KKR acquired 60% of this new company, which will launch an ambitious project to deploy a neutral optical fiber network to homes (FTTH) in Colombia, open to all market operators.
The team handling the transaction was made up of Cuatrecasas lawyers Javier Villasante, Carlos Ferrer, Agustí Cerdá, Carlota Tojo, Alfonso Coronel de Palma and Juan González. Cuatrecasas advised on this project together with New York law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Colombian law firm Gómez-Pinzón.
