Changes in the Spanish banking regulatory environment: prospective market impact

The Spanish banking regulatory environment experienced significant changes towards the end of the second quarter. The government approved the long-expected regulation of the new Banking Restructuring Fund, which the parliament endorsed, and which is said to contain the �roadmap' for restructuring the Spanish financial sector. Also, Banco de España, in a supervisory decision, eased its criteria on provisioning.
