The focus on China, the second world’s economy, is one of Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira’s priorities in terms of its internationalisation. On 27 and 28 April, AICEP organised a debate with the name “The several Chinas of China” in the scope of the business capacity building actions focusing on regional markets organised by it. The debate was attended by the main Portuguese companies with interests in the Far East and, particularly, in the People’s Republic of China, and by Vasco Bivar de Azevedo, partner of Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira and one of the lawyers in charge of the “China Desk” of the Iberian law firm. Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira was the only law firm invited to participate in the debate, which is a sign of recognition of the work carried out by the law firm in the Chinese market where it has had an active presence for more than seven years with its own office in Shanghai. The participation of Vasco Bivar de Azevedo focused on the clarification of legal questions relating to the entry of Portuguese companies in the Chinese market.
