Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira appoints four new equity partners

The Partners Assembly held in Madrid on April 4 has appointed four new equity partners in the Lisbon, Madrid and San Sebastián offices.

 

 

The new partners are as follows: Fernando de Vicente (Finance and Tax Practice, Madrid); Elisabeth Errasti (Finance and Tax Practice, San Sebastián); Rita Gouveia (Litigation Practice, Lisbon); León Miguel López (Corporate Finance Practice, Madrid).

 

Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira now has 209 equity partners

 

The firm’s chairman, Emilio Cuatrecasas, highlighted that “these appointments are linked with the firm’s objective to practice law as a collective, with maximum efficiency, responsibility and singularity”. He also highlighted the new partners’ “humane focus,” which is fundamental for the firm’s cohesion.

 

 

Profiles of the new partners

 

Fernando de Vicente

Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Mr. Vicente has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Economics from ICADE. He joined the firm’s Finance and Tax Practice in Madrid in 2011, following a period working in public administration (Court of Auditors, State Tax Inspection Authorities and the Central Economic-Administrative Tribunal) and for another law firm. He is managing partner of the Tax Litigation Practice in Madrid.

 

Elisabeth Errasti Ibarrondo

Born in Oñati, Ms. Errasti has a Bachelor of Laws from the Universidad de Deusto and a Master in Tax Law from the Universidad de Navarra. She joined the firm in November 2003. She is managing partner of the Tax Practice in San Sebastián.

 

Rita Gouveia

Born in Lisbon, Ms. Gouveia has a Bachelor of Laws and a Master in Legal and Political Studies from the Catholic University of Portugal in Lisbon. She joined the firm in Lisbon in September 1998. Litigation lawyer and expert in arbitration, she lectures in the Bachelor of Laws and the Master in Forensic Law at the Catholic University of Portugal in Lisbon.

 

León Miguel López Iglesias

Born in A Coruña, Mr. López has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from ICADE, and a postgraduate qualification from Georgetown University (Washington, USA). An expert in finance law, in 2001, he joined the firm’s Corporate Finance Practice in Madrid under the framework of the International Advocacy Support Program. He has extensive experience in international practice, having worked for leading law firms in Brazil and Canada, and having been a member of our London team for two years.

 

 

Five new counselors

 

The Board of Directors appointed during the partners assembly the following counselors: Carlos Bonhome (Banking Law Practice, Madrid); Patricia Miralles (Finance and Tax Practice, Barcelona); Irene Moreno-Tapia (Competition and EU Law Practice, Barcelona); Diana Rivera (Mergers and Acquisitions Practice, Madrid), and Pablo Villaseca (Criminal Law Practice, Madrid).
