  • With these new appointments, Cuatrecasas now has 209 partners and 54 counsel.

Cuatrecasas, a leading law firm in Spain and Portugal that represents listed companies in both countries, has appointed 11 new equity partners and 4 counsel in its first Partners Meeting of the year, held in Madrid on April 5 and 6.

The appointments represent the firm’s main practice areas and offices, with particular emphasis on Corporate Finance. This is one of the most numerous incorporations of young partners to the Cuatrecasas partnership, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to young talent.

With these new appointments, Cuatrecasas now has 209 partners and 54 counsel.

About the new partners

  • Dèlcia Capocasale has a bachelor’s degree in law and business studies, and completed a master’s degree in business administration at ESADE Business and Law School. She joined Cuatrecasas 12 years ago and is a member of the Finance and Tax team at the New York office.
  • Paulo Costa Martins has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in law from Lisbon’s Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and postgraduate studies in securities law from the Faculty of Law of Universidade de Lisboa. He joined the firm in 2000 and is a member of the Lisbon office’s Finance team.
  • Miguel Cruz has a bachelor’s degree in law and business administration and management from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE) in 2007. He joined the Madrid office’s Corporate Finance team in 2008.
  • Ignacio Escrivá de Romaní has a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE). He has developed his career in the Madrid Corporate and Commercial Practice, which he joined 12 years ago.
  • Carlos Lasarte has a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and in business administration and management from the European Business School. He studied a master’s degree in business administration at IE Business School. He has developed his career in the Madrid Finance Practice and currently heads the Finance and Banking Practices in Colombia.
  • João Mattamouros Resende has a bachelor’s degree in law from Lisbon’s Universidade Católica Portuguesa and a master’s degree in law from Harvard University. He has 18 years’ expertise in business law and is a member of the Lisbon Corporate and Commercial Practice.
  • Iker Prior has a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad del País Vasco and a master’s degree in legal consultancy for businesses from the IE Business School. He is a member of the San Sebastián office’s Labor and Employment team.
  • Manuel Requicha Ferreira has a bachelor’s degree in law from the Faculty of Law of Universidade de Coimbra. He has a master’s degree in banking law and capital markets, and postgraduate studies in securities law from Universidade de Lisboa. He joined the Lisbon office’s Finance Practice 12 years ago.
  • Victor Manuel Sánchez has a bachelor’s degree in law and business administration and management from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a master’s degree in law from the University of Manchester. He is a member of the Barcelona Litigation and Arbitration Practices and joined the firm 11 years ago.
  • Francisco Santos Costa has a bachelor’s degree in law from Lisbon’s Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and postgraduate studies in tax from ISG Business & Economics School and in regulatory and competition law from Universidade de Lisboa. With 24 years of experience, he has spent the last 12 practicing business law at the Lisbon office.
  • Xavier Xivillé has a bachelor’s degree in economic science from Universitat de Barcelona and in law from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He has a master’s degree in taxation from ESADE Business and Law School. He has been a member of the Barcelona Finance and Tax Group since 2007.

About the new non-equity partner

  • Frederico Bettencourt Ferreira has a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a master’s degree (LL.M.) in international business law from King's College, London. He is a member of the Lisbon Litigation and Arbitration team and specializes in dispute resolution.

About the new counsel

  • Javier Aristondo has a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad de Deusto. He joined the firm in 2001 and currently heads the Bilbao office’s Labor and Employment Practice.
  • Dolores Azcárraga has a bachelor’s degree in law from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a master’s degree in EU law from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She has extensive experience in taxation of human resources and is a member of the Barcelona Finance and Tax Group.
  • Victoria Villanueva has a bachelor’s degree in law from Universitat de València and doctoral studies in labor law from the same university. She is a member of the Valencia office’s Labor and Employment Practice.
  • Sandra Lima da Silveira has a bachelor’s degree in law from the Faculty of Law of Universidade de Lisboa and postgraduate studies in employment law by the same university. She joined the Lisbon office in 1999 and is a member of the Labor and Employment Practice.
