Andrew Ward is an expert in merger control, competition authority investigations and managing antitrust risks. He also advises on state aid, designing and implementing compliance programs, and other issues pertaining to EU law more widely.
From 1998 to 2002, he worked as an associate at the Brussels office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.
He qualified as a barrister of England and Wales (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1997, and is authorized to practice as a lawyer in Spain since 2002.
He is a visiting professor at Spanish and international universities, including ISDE Law & Business School. He has been published widely in Spain and abroad.
He is a board member of the Spanish Association for the Defense of Competition, a rapporteur for the American Bar Association’s International Committee and a co-chair of the Unilateral Conduct Working Group of the International Bar Association’s Antitrust Committee.
