Javier Manuel Tordesillas advises companies on commercial disputes and crossborder investments, and on the strategic analysis of sustainability and human rights issues in the context of international business.
He has participated in procedures before national and international arbitration courts, including the Court of Arbitration of Madrid, the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”), and the Spanish Arbitration Court.
He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association, the Madrid Very Young Arbitration Practitioners, the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club, and the Comillas Alumni International Arbitration Club. He is also part of the task force of the Roma Tre - UNIDROIT Center for Transnational Commercial Law and International Arbitration, and of the Study L-IIC-International Investment Contracts study group of UNIDROIT and the ICC.
He joined Cuatrecasas in 2022 and has worked at the Madrid and Mexico City offices. He is a regular guest speaker at leading academic institutions, including Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICADE and New York University School of Law. He was a visiting scholar at Universidad Panamericana (Mexico City) and at Columbia Law School (New York). He participates in the Cuatrecasas Doctorate and Practice of Law Program and has completed several international research visits.
He has coordinated and written many publications in national and international specialized journals, and is a regular speaker in forums and conferences on investment law and international human rights law.
