Specialist in corporate disputes, actions relating to directors' liability, challenges of corporate resolutions, actions relating to the right of separation of shareholders and partners, claims arising from M&A transactions and from breaches of shareholders agreements.

José María Segovia advises on lawsuits and on civil and commercial arbitration in Spain. He particularly focuses on corporate disputes (challenges of corporate resolutions, corporate and individual actions relating to directors’ liability, shareholders’ right of separation and the power to exclude shareholders, breaches of shareholders agreements) and on claims arising from company sales.

He also has extensive experience in preparing contentious general shareholder meetings and board of director meetings. He advises on M&A transactions, insolvency matters and company liquidations, disputes over contractual and tort civil liability, claims relating to sports law, claims arising from construction and supply contracts (particularly the supply of pharmaceutical products), and claims arising from banking agreements.

He has been a member of the Madrid Bar Association since 2017.

He is an associate lecturer of the subjects corporate law, and capital markets and commercial law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and he has been a guest lecturer of the subject law of obligations and contracts at ISDE Law & Business School in Madrid.

He is the co-author of chapters in collective works on corporate law and the author of articles on the Cuatrecasas sports law blog.
