Specialist in international arbitration

Pía Ruggieri’s practice focuses on international commercial and investment arbitration, representing clients in all kinds of disputes arising from construction and infrastructure agreements, M&A deals, public-works concession contracts and energy supply contracts. 

She is a member of the Executive Committee of Uruguay Very Young Arbitration Practitioners.

Since 2019, she has been training teams from Universidad de Montevideo for international arbitration competitions, including Willem C. Vis Moot and Foreign Direct Investment Arbitration Moot – FDI. She was was also a member of the case committee that drafted the problem for the first edition of the Cross Examination Moot.   

Before joining Cuatrecasas, she was assistant legal counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague (The Hague - Buenos Aires). 

Previously, she worked at the International Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce (Paris) and worked in the Banking, Finance and Project Finance group of Ferrere Abogados (Montevideo).
