Cani Fernández

Ms. Fernández is director of the firm’s EU and Competition Law Group and managing partner of the Brussels office. She has extensive experience in company acquisitions and mergers, competition law and anti-dumping, telecommunications and energy, and EU litigation. She is an Officer of Committee C (International Trade and Competition) of the International Bar Association (IBA).

Cani also advises companies, Governments and EU Institutions in cases involving wider issues of EC law (public procurement, REACH, plant and crop protection regulation, among others), including landmark cases such as Codorniu's locus standi action, IQV's successful action before the ECJ, including interim measures, representation of Danone in defense of its Bio trademark during reform of Regulation on organic production, and representation of the European Commission before the ECJ in several public procurement and infringement of State cases.
