SubscribeCuatrecasas has opened the call for applications for its sixth edition of the Cuatrecasas Challenge. The well-established national business law competition is aimed at law students in their penultimate year of a bachelor's or dual degree at any Spanish university, who have a high level of English and a brilliant academic record.
Once again, the challenge for these university students is to resolve a case study and defend it before a court formed by some of the firm’s partners. It involves strategy, public speaking, and an ability to argue a case in a top-level professional environment.
Once the registration period closes on June 30, an expert panel will select 16 students who, once organized into pairs, will face the next two phases of the competition: one written and the other oral. In both phases, the students will be assessed on their technical knowledge in a demanding professional environment, and on their strategic vision and argumentation skills.
Both the winners and runners-up will receive a monetary award that goes toward completing the Master for Admission to the Practice of Law or a dual master's degree with a specialization, and they will be able to carry out internships at Cuatrecasas in a specialty group of their choice.
Students interested in participating must submit their application along with an up-to-date CV, their academic record, and a motivational letter. Following the selection process, the pairs will be put together to resolve the case study.

Record number of applications for fifth edition
The previous edition of the Cuatrecasas Challenge received 205 applications from 55 Spanish universities, a record in the competition's history. The 16 selected participants competed before a court formed by some of Cuatrecasas’s partners: Marta Álvarez (Tax), Álvaro Fernández Sánchez del Corral (Labor and Employment), Mª José Guillén (Corporate), and Omar Puertas (Arbitration).
In the end, Beatriz Levchenko Grechko (Universidad de Málaga) and Carlos Barata Benítez (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) were announced the winners. The runners-up, María Barranchina Vidal (ESADE Business & Law School) and Jaime Correas Bosqued (Universidad de Zaragoza), also stood out for their impeccable performance in the competition.
