With a long career and proven expertise in tax law and management, Sonia Díaz will contribute significant value to the highly specialized legal advisory services developed by the firm.
She holds Bachelor’s degrees with honors in law and economics from the University of Valencia—where she received the outstanding graduating student award—and gained first place in the public competitive examination for the Tax Inspectorate of the Regional Government of Valencia in 2001.
Director general of the Valencian Tax Agency since 2019, she has held important positions in the Department of Finance and Economic Policy, including deputy director of taxes, and head of tax management for the Valencian regional services. She has also directed and coordinated various boards and commissions, such as the tax reform study commission for the autonomous region of Valencia, and the Executive Council of the Regional Government of Valencia in 2001.
In addition, she has combined her career with lecturing and speaking at courses and Bachelor and Master programs at several universities and higher education centers, including the Valencia Catholic University (UCV), the European University of Valencia (UEV) and the University of Valencia.
