Cuatrecasas has concluded the fourth edition of the Cuatrecasas Legal Week, an academic and professional program that brought together law students from Colombia, Mexico, and Peru in Barcelona (Spain). The program aimed to introduce them to the most innovative practices in business law from an international and multidisciplinary perspective.

Over five days, participants attended several technical sessions led by partners and professionals from the firm, with the participation of prominent speakers from the business world.

Practical and cross-sectoral approach

The program was structured in multidisciplinary sessions focused on the major legal challenges that companies face today in an environment of increasingly prevalent technologies and artificial intelligence. In this context, Cuatrecasas Legal Week offers a demanding and realistic vision of the profession, connecting academic training with the most innovative practice of business law in a firm present in multiple jurisdictions and sectors.

During the program, participants had the opportunity to learn about the workings of Cuatrecasas, an international law firm with over 1,900 professionals. It also included the dynamics of collaborative work and legal advice in different areas; relevant aspects to address the challenges of a constantly evolving economic and regulatory environment.

Relevant university partnerships

The fourth edition of Cuatrecasas Legal Week has also strengthened the firm's presence in Latin America, building on collaboration agreements with leading academic institutions, including Universidad de La Sabana and Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, Universidad Panamericana in Mexico, and Universidad de Piura in Peru.

Representatives from the participating universities, who also attended the sessions, all underscored the excellence of a program, unique in its design, which addresses the most disruptive and innovative legal issues. Isabel Álvarez, dean of Universidad Panamericana (Guadalajara Campus), especially valued the Cuatrecasas commitment to legal training: "We continue to marvel at the professionalism and care with which the partners share their experience and knowledge with our students." She emphasized that it is an event that combines technical, practical, and cultural learning in an international environment.

Similarly, Susana Mosquera, dean of the Law School at Universidad de Piura, noted that participation in Cuatrecasas Legal Week allowed students to approach professional practice from a perspective of excellence and emphasized that "beyond technical knowledge, this experience has been a unique opportunity to learn from top-level lawyers who also share the more human side of the legal profession."

Julián Rodríguez, director of the Law Program at Universidad de La Sabana, defined the initiative as an experience of "connecting knowledge, cultures, and people," highlighting its contribution to the training of lawyers who are better prepared and more aware of the current challenges of corporate and business law.

Cuatrecasas Legal Week represents a firm commitment by the firm to strengthening the link between academia and professional practice. Undoubtedly, it is a program that can add significant value to the professional profile of future generations of lawyers.
