Cuatrecasas advised DeepNeuronic on the sale of 100% of the Portuguese startup’s share capital, including its Brazilian subsidiary, DeepNeuronic Brasil Ltda., to Motorola Solutions, Inc.

Founded in 2021 by Vasco Lopes and Bruno Degardin, DeepNeuronic is a Portuguese startup specializing in video analysis that uses machine learning to detect situations users classify as high risk. Its software, which converts ordinary cameras into real-time analysis systems, is already used in Portugal at airports, bridges, highways, retail spaces, and other infrastructure. In Brazil, the software supports the monitoring of mobility and security operations.

As a result of this integration, the software will become part of Avigilon, Motorola Solutions’ video security platform, and will be available to customers in more than 100 countries. The Portuguese company’s team will join Motorola Solutions while remaining at DeepNeuronic’s headquarters in Covilhã, with some team members working remotely.

The transaction was led by Cuatrecasas Venture Capital partner Vasco Bivar de Azevedo. It also involved José Archer de Carvalho, from the same group; Inês Câmara Pestana, from Corporate; and Teresa Bettencourt.

Commenting on the transaction, Vasco Bivar de Azevedo said: “The uniqueness of this transaction lies in the fact that it represents one of the few exits in Portugal in 2026 by a technology startup with an exclusively Portuguese base. It highlights the growing quality of Portuguese startups, which are increasingly on the radar of international M&A.”
