Cuatrecasas advises MUFG Bank on refinancing transaction for Termo Caribe

SubscribeCuatrecasas has advised MUFG Bank LTD (“MUFG Bank”) on the USD 42 million refinancing granted to Termo Caribe S.A.S (“Termo Caribe”), to guarantee its operational continuity and contribution to Colombia’s energy matrix.
In the transaction, MUFG Bank optimized the financing structure granted to Termo Caribe in 2022, ensuring operational efficiency of this thermal power plant, that contributes 57 MW to Colombia's energy system.
This financing highlights the strength of the energy market’s regulatory framework, with particular emphasis on assets that provide greater reliability to the sector. This positions MUFG Bank as a leading financier in the energy generation sector in Colombia and Latin America.
