Juan Carlos Hernanz regularly advises industrial, energy, infrastructure, and service companies on water and soil pollution issues, including investigating and delineating responsibilities and coordinating with environmental consultants. He also advises on waste management, treatment and recovery contracts, extended producer responsibility, environmental authorizations, greenhouse gas emissions trading schemes and transactions involving carbon credits associated with the voluntary market.
He handles environmental liability procedures and defends clients involved in environmental infringements and sanctions, covering the inspection and provisional measures phase through to administrative appeals and judicial reviews.
Juan Carlos has significant experience with all types of companies in the energy sector, handling regulatory issues, company and asset sales, and litigation proceedings.
He lectures in the Master in Business Law (Public Procurement and Regulated Sectors Module) organized by the Barcelona Bar Association and regularly speaks at conferences and seminars organized by industry associations and professional bodies.
