Xavier Calaf advises large Spanish business groups (consolidated tax system) and multinational companies, as well as handling planning processes related to restructuring and selling business groups. He is an expert in protocols and family agreements, and inheritance planning of business assets.
He is a member of the Spanish Association of Expert Accountants.
He lectures at the Family Business Department of Universitat de Barcelona and in the course Consejeros de Empresa Familiar (Family Business Advisers) at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce. He also lectures on masters and speaks regularly at conferences and seminars on family businesses. He participates in training activities at the Associació Catalana de l'Empresa Familiar (ASCEF).
He is co-editor-in-chief of several books on his specialty, and coordinator and promoter of Decálogo de la Empresa Familiar (The family business decalogue) published by Cuatrecasas.
