Specialist in all phases of insolvency proceedings, including debt restructuring in the pre-insolvency phase and follow up of insolvency proceedings (including ancillary proceedings).

Francisco Javier advises on designing and implementing investment and purchase transactions and strategies in special circumstances—distressed assets—such as competitive processes for selling production units, companies and complex assets (mainly real estate), as well as loan-to-own transactions. He also advises on real estate owned (REO) transactions.

He offers a comprehensive advisory service, representing debtors and creditors, and even taking on the role of insolvency administrator.

He is also an expert in defending and managing the legal supervision of cases (pre-litigation phase and in court), as well as in civil contract litigation arising from the law of obligations and contracts. He stands out in commercial litigation for his experience in directors’ and auditors’ liability, and for his expertise in resolving corporate disputes.

In 2015, he was on secondment as a legal advisor to the Telefonica group, where he focused on contractual issues (commercial and civil) and administrative contracting.

He is an assistant lecturer in the masters for admission to the practice of law at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad CEU San Pablo (Madrid) and Centro Universitario Villanueva (Madrid).

He lectures in the Master in International Legal Practice at ISDE Law & Business School and in the Master in International Business Law at Wolters Kluwer.

He is the author of several publications.
