The Cuatrecasas Zaragoza corporate law team, led by Antonio García Lapuente and made up of Mara Tomás Ric and Guillermo Giménez Agudo, advised Costa Group on acquiring Roler.

The purchase transaction involved the acquisition of Roler España, S.L. and Roler Extremadura, S.L. These two companies make up a group specializing in manufacturing and distributing a wide variety of fresh processed meat products that are present in many large stores. The group has two production plants in Spain (Peraleda de la Mata and Terrassa), with about 500 workers.

According to Costa Group’s managing director Jorge Costa, the transaction “is an important step that enables us to continue growing, as it involves one of the most cutting-edge and innovative companies in our sector.”

Thanks to this transaction, Costa Group consolidates its presence in the food chain link closest to the consumer, where it already has well-known brands such as Casademont, Villar and La Nuncia, arising from transactions carried out in recent years and on which it also received advice from the Cuatrecasas Zaragoza corporate law team, led by partner Antonio García Lapuente and mid-level associate Mara Tomás.

Costa Group is now one of the largest meat groups in Spain with 4,500 employees and an aggregate turnover forecast of €1.75 billion for 2021.
