Cuatrecasas advises Bankinter on registering Canadian Solar’s green bonds program on the Spanish Alternative Fixed-Income Market (MARF).
Cuatrecasas advised Bankinter, participating in the transaction as the placement entity, the sole lead arranger and the payment agent, on (i) registering Canadian Solar EMEA Capital Markets’ €100 million Green Medium Term Note Program on the Spanish Alternative Fixed-Income Market (MARF - BME); and (ii) the inaugural green bond issue worth €30 million, with an annual coupon rate of 4% and a 2026 maturity date.
Canadian Solar intends to use the green bonds proceeds to support the growth, development and construction of its solar photovoltaic and battery storage portfolio in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The team advising on the transaction was made up of the lawyers Jaime Javier de la Torre Viscasillas, Jaime Juan Rodríguez Lozano, Jerónimo Poza Anguís and Juan Egea Díaz.
