The Cuatrecasas Foundation has called for applications for the third edition of the Manuel Olivencia Scholarship. Aimed at law students in Andalusia, the scholarship seeks to promote excellence, research, mobility and professional qualification. The initiative started in 2019 to honor distinguished lawyer Manuel Olivencia and pay tribute to his professional career and human qualities, promoting talent in the younger generations in the legal field to which he dedicated his career.

The scholarship is aimed at 2022–2023 final year tertiary-level law students from universities in the autonomous region of Andalusia interested in focusing their career on the business world while also seeking an international experience.  The recipient will be able to invest a sum of up to €60,000 in the full-time study, during the next 2023–2024 course, of a master’s degree or PhD in business law at a university or center of excellence outside Spain.

The Manuel Olivencia Scholarship is now accepting applications with the relevant documentation until Friday, May 5, at 2:00 p.m. Candidates wishing to apply for the scholarship must apply by email to: becamanuelolivencia@cuatrecasas.com.

Like every year, a jury panel appointed by the Cuatrecasas Foundation and made up of a broad range of independent professionals of recognized standing in Andalusia will select the candidate with the greatest merits and abilities. The panel is chaired by Guillermo Jiménez Sánchez, vice chair emeritus of the Constitutional Court and professor emeritus of commercial law.

The panel will announce its decision in June. As in every edition, leading representatives of Andalusia’s main universities and academic and social institutions will attend the scholarship award ceremony, which will take place in Seville this year.
