With this appointment, Cuatrecasas strengthens its regional Latin American platform with the firm objective for its offices in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru to extend their presence in New York and North America, enabling clients to benefit from the firm’s multi-jurisdictional capacities.
Regarding this appointment, Antonio Baena, coordinating partner of the Cuatrecasas International Practice, said: “With the hiring of Felipe as a resident partner, we continue to boost the positioning and capacities of our Latin American platform in the USA and Canada. Felipe will be joined by lawyers from our offices in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru to strengthen the cross-sectoral approach of our New York team.”

With a 20-year career, Felipe has extensive experience in local and crossborder M&A transactions, advising leading financial groups and private equity funds from different sectors in Colombia on highly complex transactions. Felipe has a Bachelor of Laws from Universidad de Los Andes de Colombia and a Master in Corporate Law from Northwestern University, Chicago. He also specialized in company law at Pontifica Universidad Javeriana de Colombia.
